| 7/3/2009 10:46:13 PM - 2008 was a very busy year for me, traveling, touring and recording with various groups including my own solo projects. My latest recording is with Criss Cross Records entitled 'Mirages' seeing its release date in the beginning of February, 2009, which includes Mulgrew Miller, Johnathan Blake, Seamus Blake and Boris Kozlov. Amongst the projects I worked on in 2008 is the Dave Holland Sextet recording, a group of which I'm a member (other members include Mulgrew Miller, Antonio Hart, Robin Eubanks and Eric Harland) entitled 'Pass It On' which came out on Dave Holland's label Dare2 released in September 2008. 2009 opens with the Dave Holland Octet (members include Chris Potter, Robin Eubanks, Antonio Hart, Gary Smulyan, Nate Smith and Steve Nelson) with performances at Birdland Jazz Club, NYC from January 7-11 which will also be a live recording.
I continue to teach at the Gronenberg Prins Claus Conservatory in Holland for the 2008/09 school year which has a unique program entitled "New York comes to Groningen" with guest teachers from New York including myself, Don Braden, David Berkman, Freddie Bryant, Dena DeRose , Mark Gross, and Joris Teepe as the head of the jazz program.

 |  |  | | | |  | PRINTS Released May 25, 2007 from Criss Cross Jazz | | Alongside the making of my ArtistShare project OUT OF THE CIRCLE, I also made a recording for Criss Cross Jazz entitled PRINTS. As explained in my blogs, PRINTS is in a way a musical prologue to OUT OF THE CIRCLE. Featuring David Kikoski, Scott Colley, Antonio Sanchez and Chris Potter, you can read the liner notes here on my news page written by John Kelman ("All That Jazz"). And for you OUT OF THE CIRCLE participants, the artwork is pretty much finished up and going to the pressing plant on Monday June 11 (my birthday) so the wait is almost over!
